In first policy speech, Japan PM Ishiba says 'today's Ukraine could be tomorrow's East Asia'
In his first policy address to parliament since taking office this week, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba warned that today's Ukraine could become tomorrow's East Asia. He said the world is becoming increasingly divided and confrontational. Apart from stressing the need to further build up his country's military, Mr Ishiba also vowed to strengthen and expand Japan's ties with South Korea and the trilateral cooperation with the US.
