Indonesia and Canada ink landmark comprehensive economic partnership agreement
Indonesia and Canada have signed a landmark deal, which also marks Ottawa's first-ever trade agreement with an ASEAN member nation. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney witnessed the signing of the Indonesia-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA-CEPA), which is set to take effect in 2026. Once fully implemented, over 95% of tariffs on Canada's current exports to Indonesia will be reduced or eliminated. Saifulbahri Ismail reports.
