Koh Poh Koon on safety and protection for delivery platform workers

Since January 2021, there have been five fatal work-related traffic accidents involving food and goods delivery platform workers. The Workplace Safety and Health Council is working with platform companies to review work processes to enhance the safety of platform workers. At the same time, the Advisory Committee on Platform Workers is looking to strengthen financial protection in case of work injury for delivery persons, private-hire car drivers and taxi drivers. The committee has been engaging platform companies and workers. Senior Minister of State for Manpower Koh Poh Koon gave this update in reply to an MP’s questions in Parliament on Tuesday (Jul 5).
