More signing up for Time-Of-Use electricity plans that offer cheaper rates during off-peak hours

Several electricity retailers in Singapore have rolled out plans that offer cheaper rates during off-peak hours. These can help residents slash their bills by as much as a third. Currently, three retailers are offering such Time-Of-Use plans, which require a smart meter to track daily electrical consumption at half-hourly intervals. With more retailers about to launch similar schemes, it could lead to even cheaper plans amid stiffer competition. Ivy Chok reports.
