The Regulation of Imports and Exports (Amendment) Bill strengthens Singapore's reputation as a trusted and responsible trading hub, said MP Ng Shi Xuan. But as Singapore builds this stronger trust chain, it must not tie the hands of those who keep it running, he said in parliament on Thursday (Nov 6). He stressed the need to pair stronger enforcement with stronger support and ensure that compliance builds confidence, not fear. “If we get this balance right, trade will continue to flow freely to Singapore,” he said.
