Sun Xueling on managing crowd surges for festive periods and public events
Police regularly analyse major incidents around the world to improve their crowd management measures. They also regularly review their regulatory and policy levers, as well as operational plans, said Minister of State for Home Affairs Sun Xueling. Replying to MPs' questions in Parliament on Monday (Nov 28), she outlined the measures in place to manage crowd surges during festive periods and at public events. She said it is equally important for organisers and stakeholders to act responsibly by ensuring that there are sufficient safety measures and working with the authorities to keep events safe. The public can also help keep each other safe by informing one another of ground developments, she added.Â
