Tides of Time
Twice a year, Asia’s coastlines enter a brief, rare window of extraordinary equinox “king tides” where the Sun, Moon and Earth align and the sea surges beyond its usual limits. In that short period, homes, sea walls, livelihoods and ecosystems are stress-tested and the shoreline becomes a moving border.
Tides of Time is a three-part series narrated by BAFTA-nominated presenter and Sunday Times best-selling author Ben Fogle. Filmed in Bangladesh, China and South Korea, the team chases this celestial trigger along three epic shores where water doesn’t just rise but rewrites the communities’ destinies.
From Sundarbans’ Hanging Homes Village, to China’s Qiantang “Silver Dragon” tidal bore, to Korea’s getbol mudflats, each film is a human rendezvous with the tide where humans must choose to adapt, resist or surrender.
