Yeo Wan Ling on Family Justice Reform Bill
Better enforcement of maintenance orders after a divorce will help to support women, especially those who have to balance caregiving responsibilities with the need to provide for their families financially. However, some women also need help to become financially independent. Making the point in Parliament on Monday (May 8), MP Yeo Wan Ling suggested that the Family Courts specify job and upskilling workshops to ensure that women have access to the resources and support they need to attain long-term financial stability and rebuild their lives. She also called on companies to redesign jobs so that flexible work arrangements become a business and social norm.
