Xin Ying is a China Correspondent with CNA Digital. She tracks how ordinary Chinese are navigating a shifting economy, while also covering the country's tech ambitions, US-China relations and defence affairs.

She joined CNA in 2020 as a producer for international news, lining bulletins for Asia First and Asia Now, before moving to the digital team.

Her work "Nuclear Weapons in Modern Arsenals and Their Catastrophic Effects" won the Intermedia-Globe Gold at the 2023 World Media Festivals. She also contributed to "Confronting the Climate Crisis," which won National Winner for Best Single News Story at the 2022 Asian Academy Creative Awards and was a finalist at the China Dragon Awards.

Prior to CNA, Xin Ying was a real estate journalist and cut her teeth in newsrooms at South China Morning Post and CNBC.
