Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 6: Mariam Jaafar on religious institutions and youths

Mosques have a unique strength in supporting the well-being of youths as they offer community meaning and spiritual guidance from trusted adults, said MP Mariam Jaafar. Speaking in parliament on Thursday (Mar 5), she stressed the need to give youths a real voice and equip them in giving professional support. She wanted to know if the government can pilot a project involving trained youth counsellors.
