Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim on typology for use of paths on Park Connector Network
In Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 13), MP Dennis Tan asked about revised typology piloted on the Park Connector Network (PCN) in 2022 that segregates selected stretches into pedestrian-only paths and shared paths. He said since then, he has observed that the situation has remained the same, red lane markings can be inconsistent within relatively short stretches, and more public education is needed as many users still do not seem to understand the markings. In response, Minister of State for National Development Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim said things have “improved significantly” and it takes time for human behaviour to change. He said NParks will roll out the typology for more park connectors, incorporating feedback received so far, before assessing whether to implement it more widely.
