Private developers must provide more detailed floor plans, disclose track records from early-2026
Private homebuyers can soon get more information on the layout plans for new housing projects at the point of sale. These include details such as structural walls, lift chambers and refuse chutes. Developers are currently not required to provide such details upfront. The new measures, which are expected to take effect in early-2026, aim to help homebuyers make better informed decisions. Developers will also be expected to disclose their construction quality track records for past projects. The defect liability period will also start later — either when buyers collect their keys, or 35 days after the payment notice is issued, whichever is earlier.
