Prof William Chen on food imports, supply chain pressures

More than 90% of Singapore's food is imported from over 180 countries and regions. One of the strongest El Nino weather patterns on ​record is widely expected to develop in the second half of this year. Hot weather and lower-then-normal rain levels are hurting crops and threatening to disrupt food supplies. Singapore has been diversifying import sources to minimise the impact of supply disruptions. Prof William Chen, director of the Food Science and Technology Programme at NTU Singapore, shared more about the country's food imports and supply chain pressures.
