Singapore drivers report no issues entering Malaysia despite not having VEP tags
Singapore-registered cars faced no issues entering Malaysia on the first day an entry permit for foreign vehicles came into effect. This is even though not all the vehicles had the permit or the accompanying RFID tag. Meanwhile at Danga Bay VEP centre in Johor Bahru, many Singaporeans were in line to try to finally get their VEP tags. Four days ago, Malaysia said foreign cars without the VEP would still be allowed to enter the country without penalty even past the deadline. Instead, they would be issued a warning notice on their way out. Claudia Lim reports.
