10:09 Min

For many young workers today, getting a foothold on the first rung of the career ladder is becoming more challenging. AI and other new technologies are changing what employers expect, even from those just entering the workforce. Minister of State for Defence and NTUC Deputy Secretary-General Desmond Choo said this in parliament on Tuesday (May 5). He added that this is where the Skills and Workforce Development Agency can make a difference by connecting career guidance, training advice, labour market signals and employment support to keep young Singaporeans from falling through the cracks. Mr Choo explained how NTUC will work with the new agency to translate national strategies into practical support for young jobseekers as well as strengthen career security for workers at every stage of their lives.
