Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 1: Gan Thiam Poh on jobs and opportunities in green transition
As Singapore transitions to become a green economy, new jobs and business opportunities will be created in almost every sector, said MP Gan Thiam Poh in Parliament on Friday (Feb 24). However, he noted that as a result, certain jobs and businesses will become obsolete. Mr Gan asked how the Government will support workers affected by the green transition. He also asked for an update on the training and education measures to prepare workers for good jobs and career paths in the nascent sectors.
