Highlighting Japan’s use of long-term projections and modelling in predicting its future immigration growth and productivity, MP Ng Ling Ling asked in Parliament on Friday (Feb 24) if the Government performs similar modelling and projections. She also urged the Government to involve citizens in formulating such models. The advantage of this, she said, is that it would deepen Singaporeans’ understanding of the issues and trade-offs involved and allow them to own a stake in co-creating a future that they aspire for the country and future generations.
